Role Summary

Is the next step in your career at SMBC Group EMEA?
We’re looking for a Vice President to join our Global Transaction Banking Department.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape and grow our Transaction Banking franchise in EMEA, working closely with corporate clients, relationship teams and product partners to drive sustainable revenue growth and client value.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Driving cash management sales and expanding wallet share across an assigned corporate client portfolio
• Developing and executing go-to-market and sales strategies in close collaboration with relationship managers and product teams
• Acting as a key bridge between clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring feedback informs product development and service delivery

For you to succeed in the role, you’ll need to have:

• Proven experience in Transaction Banking or Cash Management within the financial services sector
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across front office, product and operational teams
• A commercial mindset with the ability to identify growth opportunities and deliver results

Position Description

About this role:
This role has been created to support the strategic growth of SMBC’s Transaction Banking business in EMEA. It plays a key role in increasing deposits, profitability and client penetration, while strengthening the bank’s value proposition for both Japanese and non-Japanese corporate clients.
The role interacts with a broad range of stakeholders, including corporate clients, EMEA relationship management teams, Transaction Banking product, Operations, Technology and global GTBD counterparts.

Our role will enable you to:

• Achieve business growth targets by delivering tailored cash management and transaction banking solutions
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through active engagement, visits and strategic dialogue
• Identify client cash flow needs and promote suitable solutions such as bank connectivity, liquidity, FX and deposits
• Contribute to marketing initiatives, RFP responses, client advisory forums and industry events
• Collaborate closely with internal teams to deliver efficient, high-quality client outcomes

What will you bring to the role?
Essential:

• Relevant degree or professional banking qualification
• Significant experience in the financial services industry, ideally within Transaction Banking
• Strong presentation, communication and influencing skills

Desirable:

• Experience working with international corporate clients
• Knowledge of cross-border regulations and transaction banking products
• Familiarity with banking systems and digital cash management solutions
