In our agile AI, Advanced Analytics & Autonomy team, you will drive AI applications that advance Covestro on its path to becoming an AI-powered organisation – from initial idea through to stable production operations. You will work in an interdisciplinary environment with interfaces to R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, internal support functions as well as external partners, vendors and research institutions.

In addition to our wide range of benefits, a full-time position offers an attractive starting salary between €89,400/year and €108,500/year plus a variable component. The starting salary depends on your qualifications and professional experience.

What you will do:

• You independently design and implement AI solution architectures for generative & agentic AI use cases – covering both software design and cloud architecture (preferably AWS)

• Full ownership of use cases is yours across the entire product lifecycle, from early prototyping and MVP delivery through to stable, production-grade operations

• End-to-end, you lead AI projects and drive scoping, prioritisation and trade-off decisions as the primary point of contact for your stakeholders

• Proposals from external vendors and consultancies are critically assessed by you, resulting in well-founded recommendations that directly shape how Covestro builds its AI capabilities

• You actively co-create the generative AI tech stack and engineering culture at Covestro through communities of practice and hands-on contribution

What you bring:

• You hold a completed university degree in computer science, data science or a related field

• Solid multi-year professional experience in software engineering and cloud technologies, combined with proven hands-on experience with generative & agentic AI frameworks, runtimes and foundation models

• You actively follow developments in the AI landscape and independently translate relevant trends into concrete recommendations

• Proven experience leading AI projects end-to-end – including scoping, prioritisation, trade-off decisions and stakeholder management – is part of your track record

• Strong business acumen enables you to understand the problem behind the problem and design solutions accordingly

• You communicate with confidence across both technical teams and senior non-technical stakeholders

• Fluency in written and spoken English completes your profile
