Accounting Specialist (m/w/d) - DE - Westhausen

Full-time and part-time possible (25 - 35 hours per week)

Summary

In this role, you will join a dedicated accounting team and support financial operations within an international industrial company. You will be involved in a broad range of accounting activities, gaining exposure to General Ledger tasks, payroll accounting, and selected closing and reporting activities in accordance with US GAAP and HGB. Working closely with internal stakeholders and the Shared Service Center in Hungary, you contribute to smooth financial processes and actively support audit activities, payment processes, and fixed asset accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

• 
  Support monthly and annual US GAAP closing activities and contribute to a timely and accurate close process
• Be involved in General Ledger accounting, including postings, reconciliations and ongoing operational topics
• Handle payroll accounting in close coordination with internal and external partners
• Act as a reliable contact for business stakeholders in day-to-day accounting and finance-related matters
• Support accounts payable and payment-related processes in collaboration with the Shared Service Center in Hungary
• Assist with reporting, audits and statutory requirements, including support in HGB financial statements and master data maintenance

Critical Skills & Qualifications:

• 
  Completed commercial training or a comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in accounting / finance within an industrial or international environment
• Solid knowledge of MS Office, with very good Excel skills
• Experience with SAP FI/CO
• Interest or initial experience in BI tools or process automation is a plus
• Fluency in German and English
